A barn dance is a lovely event for parties and family events that everyone from 8 -80 can join in together, and Barnbuskers is very good at doing them!
We provide the music and the caller for your event. Our caller is highly experienced and wiil have your guests dancing in no time, even if they have never done it before.
At the beginning of every dance there will be a walk-through, so everyone can learn the dance. When the dance starts, the caller will give reminders. Don’t worry if you haven’t done it before – the dances will start easy and be tailored to the ability and access of the participants.
The band consists of fiddle, clarinet, accordion or guitar and bass. We play a lively set of tunes, and we have some recordings for you to listen to on our website.
Nothing! Ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a different name for the same type of dancing.
At least 40. Any fewer and it will be a struggle to get enough people up and dancing.
A village hall works well, or a marquee – or of course a barn!
