Wedding Cakes Essex (and Beyond)

Do you, as a couple, strive to be different and stand out from the crowd?

No two couples are the same.   You are unique and that is exactly what I believe your wedding cake should be.  A uniquely stunning, deliciously modern, centrepiece.

After all, who wants someone else‘s wedding cake on their special day?

Hi, I‘m Sue, a well-established, Essex-based, luxury wedding cake designer, with my very own unique style.

I’m all about designing my clients unique and modern, showstopping, edible centrepieces, whilst wowing their guests with, not only the look but also the taste!

Covering Wedding Cakes Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, London, Kent, Surrey and beyond, I am no stranger to travelling with my mouthwatering designs.

My continued drive and passion to create highly detailed contemporary, and truly unique designs, for every one of my couples, has earned me a reputation for exquisite and imaginative creations.

Catering for weddings, large and small, I offer slightly more non-traditional wedding cake designs, along with an array of coordinating edible favours and modern-day dessert tables. From the first point of contact, through to arriving on the day and seeing your cake perfectly set up, I promise you an easy and stress-free ordering experience, with luxurious touch points all the way.

“Our wedding cake was incredible.  So much flavour.  Sue’s service was so professional.  From tasting sessions, to designs, imagery and social media.  Cannot recommend her enough.  So many good things said about our cake.  We encourage everybody to use her!” – – Holly & Alex

“We had Sue make our wedding cake. It looked amazing and tasted absolutely fantastic. I would definitely recommend to have the taster session, as Sue has so many varieties of sponge and fillings. The ideas and suggestions she has are great.” – Terri Ryan

FAQs

As a rule of thumb, I generally recommend catering for 75-80% of your total evening wedding guests, as not all will eat cake. A standard wedding cake slice is normally considered 1” x 1” fingers. My designs come in an array of heights so I adjust the finger sizes accordingly, depending on the over all height of each tier when calculating the overall size that you will need. An exception to the above would be if you are serving your wedding cake as you wedding breakfast dessert, in which case I recommend catering for 100% of your daytime wedding guests, with portion sizes being increased to 2” x 1” slices. However, these recommendations are only that – recommendations – if you feel your guests will eat more or you would like to save the top tier to take home, to enjoy to yourselves at a later date, this can all be worked out to the perfect size/portions for your requirements.

The price of a wedding cake varies hugely, depending on your requirements. Tier size and depth, number of tiers and intricacy of design, are all a big factor. Please see the price page for a guide to my starting prices, plus previous clients’ average spend.

Once your date is set and your venue is booked, it’s a good idea to start booking the suppliers who can only be in one place at a time. Due to only being able to deliver and set up one cake on any given day (some exceptions apply), availability can be booked up fast, so booking as soon as you know is always recommended to avoid disappointment.

Absolutely…in fact, I insist on it! Once your design is finalised, you can sit back and relax, safe in the knowledge that your cake will be safely delivered and set up perfectly in readiness for your arrival on your wedding day. I deliver wedding cakes and dessert tables to wedding venues all over Suffolk, London, Essex, Kent, Surrey, and beyond (subject to a delivery fee).

FUN FOUNDER FACT

I hated baking as a child/young adult. My first attempt to bake and decorate a cake was for my son’s 1st birthday (12 years ago). It tasted and looked terrible. It was on that day that I promised myself, by the time he was 18, I would be able to bake and decorate a cake he would be proud of.
