The Publicans

The Publicans are purveyors of the finest Irish and English folk with an indie twist. Our songs are fine-tuned for dancing, drinking and singing along to. Whether a true story or a tall tale, we perform our tunes with enthusiasm and honesty and hope those who listen enjoy them as much as we do performing them. The full band is a five-piece, with mandolin, penny whistle, guitar, bass, drums and vocals. We can perform as a duo, trio or four-piece depending on the venue or budget. Either way, it’s all great fun and we’re guaranteed to lift the mood whenever we play. As the great Shane MacGowan once said ‘There’s nothing to be gained by a wet thing called a tear‘.
